Corey Lee Barker is one of my favorite writers to work with. We met at church serving on the worship team together back in 2010. I heard from several folks that he was a great songwriter, and he heard I was making a record.

We wrote Hurry Up And Slow down smack dab in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic back in summer 2020. It had been quite a while since we had written together, so we began our session in the typical songwriters-but-friends fashion and shared with each other how 2020 had been going.

As you could imagine– we found a lot of common ground.

We started talking about how lockdown and everything else that has come with the pandemic really changed our perspective of time.
